Admiral's Bridge

The Admiral's Bridge is a medieval bridge from 1131, built by Admiral George of Antioch in the service of King Roger II. It has pointed arches in pale stone.
The Oreto river that flowed beneath was diverted in the 20th century: the bridge now stands in the middle of the city, among roads and houses. Yet it still impresses with the strength and simplicity of its arches.
It is part of the UNESCO itinerary Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale. A few steps away is San Giovanni dei Lebbrosi.
