Lampedusa e Linosa, AG
Linosa is a black and red volcanic island, north-east of Lampedusa. A few hundred people live here, in houses painted in bright colours.
The island is made up of extinct craters, among them Monte Vulcano, the highest. The coast is a sequence of lava coves where the water is crystal clear. In summer the Caretta caretta turtle lays its eggs on the beaches.
The village is quiet, with a few hotels and fish restaurants. It is a destination for those looking for nature and silence, far from the crowds.
